The Hollywood Foreign Press Association celebrated George Clooney, the recipient of the 2015 Cecil B. deMille Lifetime Achievement Award at an intimate cocktail reception in honor of the actor-producer-director who already had 3 Golden Globes (and 11 nominations) to his name. Now Clooney is also the 62nd recipient of the honorary award bestowed by the HFPA since 1952 for outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. At the informal event in West Hollywood our members and HFPA president Theo Kingma toasted Clooney who also received a copy of “Cecil B. deMille: The Art of the Hollywood Epic” from Cecilia deMille Presley, granddaughter of the legendary director for whom the award is named. She co-authored the volume on his life and work with Mark A. Vieira. Clooney will be officially honored with the 2015 Cecil B. deMille Award at the 72nd Annual Golden Globe® Awards on Sunday, January 11, 2015. The 2015 Golden Globe® Awards will air LIVE coast-to-coast on NBC with the pre-show from 4:00-5:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00-8:00 p.m. (EST), and main telecast from 5:00-8:00 p.m. (PST)/8:00-11:00 p.m. (EST) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
