Shailene Woodley on the Fault in Our Stars
This has been a big year for Shailene Woodley who burst on the scene in 2011 with a Golden Globe nominated performance in Alexander Payne’s The Descendants. In January we saw her at Sundance in Greg Araki’s White Bird in a Blizzard. Then she headlined the dystopian Divergent. She played Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, although her scenes ended up on the cutting room floor when director Marc Webb decided to streamline his reboot of the Marvel epic. Now she’s back in one of the year’s most bussed-about films: The Fault In Our Stars in which she plays Hazel, a teenage cancer patient who is forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she subsequently meets and falls in love with Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), an ex-basketball player and amputee. We caught up with her to talk about it.
