Olivia Wilde, Bobby Cannavale, Talk Vinyl, Jagger

Bobby Cannavale and Olivia Wilde play the estranged couple at the center of Vinyl, HBO’s new series set in the roiling world of New York Rock ‘n Roll, circa 1973. Created by Mick Jagger & Martin Scorsese & Rich Cohen and Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) from an idea by producers Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese (who also was behind the camera for the pilot) the show attempts to capture the unique essence of an era. Cannavale is Richie Finestra, the hard charging (and partying) executive of fictional record label American Century. Finestra is trying to save his embattled company and his marriage on the backdrop of a singular moment, when the sound of a generation’s counterculture was transitioning to new commercial heights and at the same time evolving in new and exciting directions. We spoke to Bobby and Olivia about that time, that world and working with real-life rock god Mick Jagger.
