American Girl (Taiwan)

Adolescent years are rarely painless, especially in the case of precocious 13-year-old Fen Liang (Caitlin Fang), the protagonist in the Taiwanese drama American Girl. Fen finds herself uprooted from her adopted city of Los Angeles. Along with her sister, Ann (Audrey Lin), and mother, Lily (Carena Lam), they must return to Taipei, where Lily, recently diagnosed with breast cancer, will be treated for her condition. Lily reunites with her husband Huay (Kaiser Chuang), who was previously unable to travel with his family to Los Angeles due to his work commitments.

American Girl won five awards at the 58th Golden Horse Awards in Taipei, including Best New Performer for Fang and Best New Director for Roan.
