French actor Gérard Depardieu receives the Best Actor in a Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy Golden Globe for Green Card, directed by Peter Weir, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday, January 19, 1991.  Backstage he playfully lets Andie MacDowell hold the statuette since she was nominated for Best Actress for the same film.
Depardieu acted in movies in French, Italian and English, worked with directors like François Truffaut and Bernardo Bertolucci and was paired with costars like Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Huppert.  MacDowell acted with costars like Bill Murray and Hugh Grant and received three Golden Globe nominations.
