Golden Globe Moment: Rock Hudson Congratulates Doris Day, 1960

Born on November 17, 1925, in Winnetka, Illinois, and named Roy Harold Scherer, Rock Hudosn went on to break hearts on the big screen. Your untimely death in 1985 galvanized the industry and inspired your peers to join in a common fight against HIV-AIDS.
Back at the 1960 Golden Globes, held March 8, 1960 at the Cocoanut Grove, Ambassador Hotel, your friend and co-star Doris Day, recipient of a World Film Favorite award, was all smiles for you. You had worked together in Pillow Talk, one of 1959’s biggest hits, and would shoot two more pictures together: Lover Come Back, in 1961 and Send Me No Flowers, in 1964.
