They are pink, black, red, blue and yellow, always in search of justice and have been loved by generations of children since 1993.  The Power Rangers debuted in the US on Fox, ana adaptation of teh original Japanese Super Sentai series. Twenty-three seasons (and two motion pictures) later, the Rangers are back with a new feature that will make its grand entrance in cinemas on March 24th of next year, with an impressive cast that includes Golden Globe winner (and five time nominee) Bryan Cranston, three-time Emmy nominee Elizabeth Banks and Project Almanac director Dean Israelite as their guide. The brand new cast was introduced to the world at Comi-Con 2016, where thousands of fans lined up to see them in person at Petco Park, followed by a VIP party thrown by Lionsgate and Legendary. A day later the new team visited the HFPA Comic-Con lounge, unfortuntaley without their colorful uniforms. The five  were very happy and really proud of the work they are doing on the set, and promised us an enjoyable adventure for the whole family with the customary diversity message that the Rangers have been delivering long before it became Hollywood’s hot issue. In the past the Rangers teams have been cast with unknown actors, but Israelite has now gone with cool, emerging talent : RJ Cyler, who plays Billy (the Blue Ranger), was Earl in the Sundance hit Me and Earl and the Dying Girl; Mexican-American Becky G, who plays Trini (the Yellow Ranger), is a popular singer and songwriter who made it to the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit Shower; Ludy Lin, who plays Zack, (the Black Ranger), is a Chinese actor who studied in Canada, and has been seen the Netflix series Marco Polo; British actress Naomi Scott, who plays Kimberly (the Pink Ranger), has a long filmography that includes Ridley Scott's The Martian, The 33 and an important part in the cancelled show Terra Nova; and Australian Dacre Montgomery, who plays Jason ( the Red Ranger) is an up-and-coming actor in his country. In the sometimes tumultuous chat we had with them (it's not easy to interview five stars at the same time…), they young, millennial and truly global cast shared their infectious excitement and the sense of responsibility that comes with donning the colorful suits that generations of fans have loved so much.
