Hero Moment- Comic-Con 2017: Colin Firth, the Once and Future Kingsman

A Golden Globe winner and a gentleman, Colin Firth got things started on the HFPA Comic-Con lounge with an animated chat about his return as Harry Hart, the suave spy & mentor of Kingsman, now in its second outing, The Golden Circle. Directed by Matthew Vaughn once again, Kingsman: The Golden Circle gives Colin’s Hart a new disciple, Eggsy, played by Taren Egerton.

His return, Firth told us, was a bit of a surprise: “(Matthew Vaughn) intended me to be well and truly under the ground after the first one I think.  He didn’t preplan the idea that I would be revived in some way.  (…)But I think he also knew that the magic came from the relationship.  Because I think what he understands very, very clearly and communicates to us, is that there is no effective action without character, and so even a fight isn’t interesting without character, without motivation, without story.  A fight has to have a story.  And it doesn’t have a story unless you know what you are rooting for. “
