HFPA PARTY ROCKS TORONTO

For many years the Hollywood Foreign Press Association/ InStyle party has been the hottest ticket at the Toronto International Film Festival – and this year was no exception.

The annual bash is famous for being the only party where festivalgoers and celebrities can mingle undisturbed, with the added bonus of an open bar and gourmet cuisine.

The party also marks the closure of the annual  Toronto visit for over forty HFPA members who worked tirelessly to cover a dozen different films  in  thirty-two press exclusive conferences held over five days.

Pictures covered this year by the HFPA included Ben Affleck’s Argo, Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina, starring Keira Knightley, the tsunami drama The Impossible staring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, Seven Psychopaths with Colin Farrell and Woody Harrelson, the crime drama End of Watch starring Jake Gyllenhaal and veteran Ben Lewin’s indie drama The Sessions, starring Helen Hunt and John Hawkes.

Did the HFPA discover yet another Slumdog Millionaire surprise at this year’s festival? We’ll have to wait until December 13, when the Golden Globes nominations will be announced.

On one thing, all HFPA members agreed: the Toronto International Film Festival is one of the best – and the HFPA/InStyle party will be there next year.
