TIFF Talk: Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt has not been sitting around. Not only does he star in The Magnificent Seven, Antoine Fuqua’s remake of the John Sturges classic western from 1960, he will be seen in the upcoming Sci-fi epic Passengers opposite Jennifer Lawrence and to the anxiously awaited follow up to Guardians of the Galaxy whose presentation had fans in a frenzy at Comi-Con last July. Chris is also married to fellow thespian Anna Faris. We spoke to him in Toronto. “The last time I cried was this is funny because it was – it was the day before yesterday. I had just spent, you know, 14 months on the road for three movies in a row including MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, and then PASSENGERS and then GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2. They were all filmed on location and I have a family.  I have a wife and son and we just got to spend six whole weeks together (…) and I just hit the road yesterday and I was in the car and I just – I actually have this app where I keep like a journal in my phone and I almost never fill it out when I'm home but when I'm on the road I'm writing in it all the time and I opened it up and I was like just took a deep breath and I realized like oh, f**k here I go – I'm on the road again, you know, and that got me emotional.  When I miss my family probably it’s the most thing that makes me cry.”
