Nonfiction films offer a great way to lift and celebrate the fascinating lives of lesser-known figures in all types of fields, shining a light on people from overlooked communities or influential figures who never really achieved mainstream appreciation. A great many such movies, however, spend a lot energy working to convince viewers of their subject’s brilliance, and thus noteworthiness.

The 40-year-old actress, whose career spans television, cinema and theater, got a Golden Globe nomination in 2015 and another one in 2016 for her supporting role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in the Netflix series Orange is the New Black. A few weeks ago, she received her third Golden Globe nomination, this time as Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama, for playing psychotherapist Dr.

The wait is over for fans: OITNB Season 5 has dropped and bingers have been in overdrive, tearing through the new series, which all takes place in the space of three days after a riot broke out in last year’s finale.
