Bill Condon

William “Bill” Condon (born in New York City, October 22, 1955), a director and screenwriter, wrote and directed movies like Gods and Monsters (1998) with Ian McKellen as James Whale, Kinsey (2004) with Liam Neeson as Alfred Kinsey, Dreamgirls (2006) from the musical about the Supremes.


He wrote the screenplay for Chicago (2002) directed by Rob Marshall from the 1975 stage musical by Bob Fosse. He directed The Fifth Estate (2013) with Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange, Mr. Holmes (2015) with Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes, Beauty and the Beast (2017) with Emma Watson as Belle, a live action remake of the 1991 animated movie, The Good Liar (2019) with Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren.
