Geraldine Chaplin (born in Santa Monica, California, July 31, 1944), daughter of Charlie Chaplin, acted in movies like Doctor Zhivago (1965) by David Lean, Nashville (1975) by Robert Altman, Welcome to L.A. (1976) and Remember My Name (1978) by Alan Rudolph.  She starred in Spanish films directed by her partner Carlos Saura: Cría Cuervos (1976), Elisa, vida mía (1977), Mamá cumple cien años (1979). She acted in the French movies Les Uns et les Autres (1981) by Claude Lelouch, La vie est un roman (1983) by Alain Resnais, L’Amour par terre (1984) by Jacques Rivette. She played her own grandmother Hannah in Chaplin (1992) directed by Richard Attenborough with Robert Downey Jr. as Charlie Chaplin. She was directed by Martin Scorsese in The Age of Innocence (1993), by Jodie Foster in Home for the Holidays (1995), by Franco Zeffirelli in Jane Eyre (1996). She acted in the Spanish Argentine thriller En la ciudad sin límites (2002), Hable con ella (Talk to Her, 2002) by Pedro Almodóvar. On television she played Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, in The Crown (2019).
