John Cleese

John Cleese (born October 27, 1939, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England) gained fame as one of the creators-performers of the British TV series in Monty Python’s Flying Circus; the team also wrote and starred in the films Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Life of Brian (1979), and The Meaning of Life (1983). Cleese co-created, wrote, and starred in Fawlty Towers (1975-79) whose 12 episodes are still watched in reruns  more than 40 years later. He co-wrote and starred in A Fish Called Wanda (1988), for which he was Golden Globes-nominated as an actor.  He has continued to work as a writer and/or actor into the 21st century.
