John Wells

Producer John Wells (born on May 28, 1956, in Alexandria, Virginia), received two Golden Globes nominations, in 2007 for Mrs. Harris as Best TV-Movie, and in 2012 for Mildred Pierce as Best Limited Series. Wells is also known as one of the executive producers of the acclaimed series The West Wing (1999-2005) and ER (1994-2009), and the films The Company Men (2010), and  August: Osage County (2013). Shows produced by John Wells have received an astounding 267 Emmy nominations, with 55 Emmy wins.


Among Well’s endless credits as executive producer or producer, both in film and television, are the TV series China Beach (1988-91), Mimi Leder’s thriller The Peacemakers (1997), starring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman, and White Oleander (2002), with Michelle Pfeiffer and Renee Zellweger;  the TV series Johnny Zero (2005), Third Watch (1999-2005), Mary Harron’s The Notorious Betty Page (2005), with Gretchen Mol and Lily Taylor, the Brian Wilson bio-pic Love & Mercy, with Paul Dano  and John Cusack  (2014), the TV series American Woman (2018), the miniseries Maid (2021), with Margaret Qualley, and the TV series Animal Kingdom (2016-2022).
