Paul Williams

Paul Williams (born in Omaha, Nebraska, September 19, 1940), composer, singer, songwriter and actor, wrote the score for Phantom of the Paradise (1974) written and directed by Brian De Palma, where he acted as record producer Swan and performed the Phantom’s singing voice. He wrote and performed the song Where Do I Go From Here for Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) written and directed by Michael Cimino, the words and music for the gangster musical comedy Bugsy Malone (1976) directed by Alan Parker and starring Jodie Foster, the song Rainbow Connection, performed by Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie (1979), he co-wrote the lyrics for A Star Is Born (1976) and for the song Evergreen performed by Barbra Streisand, he wrote the songs performed by Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman in Ishtar (1987) written and directed by Elaine May.
