Robert Vaughn (born in New York City, November 22, 1932, died November 11, 2016) was nominated to the International Star of Tomorrow award at the 1961 Golden Globes for The Magnificent Seven (1960) by John Sturges, after being nominated in 1960 as Best Supporting Actor for The Young Philadelphians (1959) starring Paul Newman. On television he played Napoleon Solo in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (1964-1968). He had supporting roles in movies like Bullitt (1968) with Steve McQueen, Julius Caesar (1970) with Charlton Heston, The Towering Inferno (1974), Superman III (1983) with Christopher Reeve.
