Sammy Davis Jr.

Samuel Davis Jr. (born in New York City, December 8, 1925, died May 16, 1990), a singer, actor, comedian, started in vaudeville as a child, acted on Broadway, performed with the Rat Pack in Las Vegas and in the movies Ocean’s 11 (1960), Robin and the Seven Hoods (1964) costarring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He also acted in movies like Porgy and Bess (1959) with Sidney Poitier and Dorothy Dandridge, A Man Called Adam (1966), Sweet Charity (1969) by Bob Fosse with Shirley MacLaine, The Cannonball Run (1981) with Burt Reynolds, Tap (1989) with Gregory Hines. On television he hosted the talk show Sammy & Company (1975-1977).
