Tim Allen

Tim Allen (born Timothy Alan Dick on June 13, 1953, in Denver, Colorado), made it big as an actor with his role of a suburban father, Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor,  in the acclaimed TV series Home Improvement, which ran on ABC from 1991 to 1999. Allen gathered five Golden Globe nominations thanks to this show, winning in 1995 as Best Performing Actor in a TV series.

Allen started his career in comedy at the Comedy Castle in Detroit, and went on to do several cable specials, including Comedy’s Dirtiest Dozen (1988) and Tim Allen: Men Are Pigs (1990). In 1991, he became the star of his own hit television series on ABC, Home Improvement. He also starred in a string of blockbuster movies such as The Santa Clause (1994) and its sequel in 2002, Galaxy Quest (1999) and of course providing the voice to space hero Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s digital animation “cult” Toy Story (1995), and its many sequels and related videogames.

Allen also starred at the movies in Joe Somebody (2001), and Big Trouble (2002), and appeared in the TV series Last Man Standing (2011-2021) and Reno 911! (2020). He’s currently filming a TV series based on The Santa Clause, in the same role of Santa Claus/Scott Calvin, that along Buzz Lightyear and Tim “The Tool Man” (“more power!”) has brought so much fortune to his career as an actor.
