Searching is a Hitchcockesque web thriller told via modern technology devices. After David Kim (John Cho)’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened to help find the girl. But after 37 hours of fruitless detective work, David decides to break into his daughter’s laptop and trace her digital footprints. Cleverly using social media, iMessages and old family videos, not only does Searching explore the widening gap between parents and their children, but it also depicts an authentic Asian family on screen. Here is what the film’s director Aneesh Chaganty and star John Cho told us.
