It is a well-known fact of physics (or at least of Hollywood) that the Marvel universe is continually expanding. The latest frontier to fall to the advancing juggernaut is streaming video, with the long-awaited debut of Daredevil on Netflix. The adventures of the blind avenger promise marry Marvel’s signature action with the added edginess afforded by Netflix’s unrestricted format – and “PG 16” rating. If all goes as planned Daredevil will be the first of four new live-action Marvel series (Marvel’s AKA, Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Iron Fist and Luke Cage) all leading up to the monster crossover, The Defenders. We checked out the premiere and asked the cast and show runner Steven DeKnight about the rumored darkness of the series.
