Ewan McGregor and Jennifer Connelly talk “Pastoral”

Twice nominated Ewan McGregor bursts on the world stage with Trainspotting (1996) and will soon be seen in the 20-years-on sequel to that film (also based on an Irvine Welsh novella and helmed by Danny Boyle). In between he has starred in more than sixty films, garnering Golden Globe noms for Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge (2013) and Lasse Hallström’s Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. Now he has also stepped behind the camera for his directorial debut in American Pastoral in which he also stars alongside Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning. The HFPA’s Ruben Nepales and Helen Hoehne spoke to McGregor and Connelly about their collaboration and about adapting the Philip Roth novel of the same title.
