Iain Armitage on “Young Sheldon”

For an actor who has not yet completed his first decade of life, Iain Armitage already has an impressive list of credits. The 9-year old from Virginia has appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims, Golden Globe winner Big Little Lies and is now headlining CBS’s Young Sheldon as the titular boy-genius, Sheldon Cooper. Sheldon’s grown-up incarnation was, of course, made famous by Jim Parsons on the multi-Globe nominated hit The Big Bang Theory (a role which earned him a Best Actor Globe). Iain acquits himself admirably stepping into those rather large shoes with youthful nerdiness. The HFPA’s Michele Manelis and Mirai Konishi spoke to him about the show.
