The Resilient Power of "Little Women"

Little Women may be the ultimate aspirational coming-of-age tale and Louisa May Alcott’s novel has been adapted again and again for the big and small screen. Six times as a movie, to be precise, and another six as TV series. No less than four of those have been BBC productions which is also the case for the latest iteration, the first TV adaptation since 1970, starring Angela Lansbury, Emily Watson as well as Willa Fitzgerald, Annes Elwy and Maya Hawke (daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke) as three of the March sisters. The HFPA’s Alessandra Venezia spoke to the latter three as well as the legendary Ms. Lansbury.
