Louis Gossett Jr.

Louis Gossett Jr. (born in Brooklyn, New York, May 27, 1936) acted in the play A Raisin in the Sun (1959) and its 1961 film adaptation, both starring Sidney Poitier, he acted on television in the miniseries Roots (1977) from the 1976 novel by Alex Hailey, Sadat (1983), The Josephine Baker Story (1991) with Lynn Whitfield, The Good Fight (2017). He acted in movies like The Deep (1977) directed by Peter Yates, An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) directed by Taylor Hackford starring Richard Gere, Enemy Mine (1985) by Wolfgang Petersen with Dennis Quaid, Iron Eagle (1986) by Sidney Furie, The Principal (1987) with Jim Belushi, Marvel’s The Punisher (1989) with Dolph Lundgren, Diggstown (1992) by with James Woods, Daddy’s Little Girls (2007) with Idris Elba.
